Strategy, Business Case & Options Analysis

The PTS Strategy process works with the business, technology and key Stakeholders in conjunction with the PTS Subject Matter Experts to identify the current status, followed by an analysis and assessment which is aligned to the specialist subject knowledge and is able to identify the various options that can be applied to the Strategy. Working with the business stakeholders, the Strategy Options are reviewed and assessed, and those non applicable are eliminated leaving a preferred option which is presented for approval and adoption as the strategy of choice.

The key activities in the development of the Strategy will include:

  • Due Diligence and analysis of the current situation which includes not just internal factors but also external factors that could impact the organisations goals
  • Goal Setting developing the vision and mission, establishing the long-term purpose and objectives of the organisation
  • Strategic Objectives identification and developing specific, measurable goals to achieve the vision and mission
  • Formulation of the Strategy, and developing the plan of action (includes – assigning tasks and responsibilities). Finishing with a presentation of the Strategy to senior Stakeholders
  • Evaluation and Control of the Strategy through regular monitoring of progress and modifying as needed to ensure the strategy is on track to meet objectives.

The Strategy and Business Case can help an organisation to align its resources, people, and activities with its objectives and priorities, resulting in improved performance, increased efficiency, and better outcomes. Some of these benefits include:

  • Clarity of Purpose: can help an organisation to define its purpose and clarify its goals, objectives, and priorities. This clarity helps to ensure that all stakeholders are aligned and working towards the same objectives.
  • Improved Decision Making: an organisation can gather and analyse information to make more informed decisions. This information can include market trends and analysis, and business needs and preferences.
  • Increased Efficiency: can help an organisation identify areas where it can improve its IT Data Centre operations and processes, resulting in increased efficiency and ongoing reduced costs.
  • Better Resource Allocation: By identifying and prioritising its initiatives and projects through the strategy and business case exercise, an organisation can plan and allocate its resources more effectively and efficiently, this could include the consolidation of services, and or retirement of resources.
  • Improved Communication and Collaboration: By involving key stakeholders in the strategy and business case exercise, communication and collaboration can be improved, which can help to break down silos and ensure that everyone is working towards the same objectives.
  • Increased Accountability: can help to create a clear set of objectives and metrics, making it easier to hold individuals and teams accountable for their performance.
